On this screen click the Rules tab near the top of the page. |

On this screen you will see the priority setting for the NCXSaDiscard rule. By default it is set to "Inactive." If you leave it there then the rule is turned off. You can click the drop down arrow to set the priority of the rule to turn it on. The setting "Highest" is recommended if you have no other rules setup. If you do have other rules set, then set the priority for this rule which would work best with any other rules you may have. Once you do this, click the " Apply Changes" button. To change the settings for how strict or lax the spam rule will be click the word "Edit." |

On this screen you will see the rule settings. Our spam filter reads a score that gets entered into the header field of your email after it is scanned by our software. The number of Xs in the Parameter Field determines the severity of the filter. It is set to 8 Xs by default, but you can add or remove them depending on your email needs and tolerance for spam. Once you do this click the "Set Rule" button. The lower the number of Xs the more likely a message will be identified as spam, the higher the number, the more spam that will pass through. If it is set too low you run the risk of having legitimate emails removed. If it is too high then the more junk mail you are likely to receive. If you ever accidentally erase all the characters in the parameter field just retype X-Spam-Level:XXXXXXXX* and add or subtract any Xs as you wish. The Action field denotes what happens to a message once it is identified as spam. If you ever have any questions or comments about the filter please give our support staff a call at 888-686-3863, Option 2, or email support@ncx.com |
